My Zumba exercise teacher announced to our class that we would have an opportunity to “dance for the cure”. It is important to note that awareness is the first step. Every woman should be tested because just living in the United States puts women at higher risk than many other countries. In Asia the rate of breast cancer is half that in the US. Many experts now accept that approximately four out of five breast cancers are caused by environmental factors rather than genetics. Worldwide, 500,000 deaths will be attributed to breast cancer this year!
